Lounging in the Camp

Puddlepelt got out of the den and stretched. It felt quiet. And felt alone. But not very alone just a little alone. She scanned the camp hoping to spot someone before laying back down.

Dewstar padded out of her den, feeling tired but unable to sleep. She looked around camp and saw PuddlePelt. "Hello Puddlepelt!" she called out.

Puddlepelt looked up. "Oh hello Dewstar!" She greeted, "How have you been?" She got up, stretched and walked over to Dewstar.

"Fine, and how have you been?" she replied. She glanced at the fresh-kill pile, wondering if she ought to go hunting later.

"Fine. Had nothing really to do though." Puddlepelt meowed, "Do you need anything done?"

"Perhaps a hunting patrol could be organized? The fresh kill pile looks a little small," Dewstar suggested. "I'd be happy to go hunting."

"Sure! Want to go right now?" Puddlepelt asked quickly. She hopped up and bounced around. Clearly she had a ton of energy right now.

Dewstar nodded, trying to contain her happiness. She was glad that for once everything felt normal, like it should. Nothing seemed out of place.

Puddlepelt dashed for the camp exit then sat still. Her paws still kneaded the ground with excitement. "Where should we head first?"

Dewstar follows, wondering the same thing. "It's been a bit since I hunted... Where do you think the best place is?" she asked.

Puddlepelt thought for a moment. "Well there is this one place that hasn't been hunted in in a while." She answered before starting to lead the way there.

Puddlepelt started to sprint then slowed down quickly. H look back at Dewstar. "Shhh..." She meowed softly, "We are here."

Puddlepelt watched then scented to air. She also saw a mouse but was to hasty in her leap and missed it. She went to chase it but was too slow.
